Libre Computer operates https://www.libre.computer and https://libre.computer.
Those two names are the same website. This page is the privacy policy for
that website and for the Libre Computer app. On Android the app's package
name is `computer.libre.android`. The same program on a computer follows the
app section below.
Our community forum at [hub.libre.computer](https://hub.libre.computer/) is a
separate service with user accounts, and it has its own terms — see
[Other sites we run](#other-sites-we-run) below. This page does not replace
that policy.
## What the website and the app do not do
- **No cookies on the website.** This site sets none, and neither does the
host serving it. The app does not use cookies.
- **No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers.** There is
no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no social tracking script on the
website. The app does not include an analytics or advertising SDK, and it
does not read an advertising ID.
- **No account, no profile.** Nothing on this site asks you to register or
log in. The app has no account.
## The Libre Computer app
The app writes a system image to a board, talks to a board you plug in, and
downloads a file when you ask it to. It does not send us an account, an
advertising ID, or information about the board.
On the device it keeps the images you download, a partial file while a
download is in progress, and a copy of our public product catalogue so it can
open without a network. A board's USB serial number and the text of a console
session stay on the device for that session. Clearing the app's stored data
removes them. The Android app does not use Android backup.
The app fetches public catalogue files from
[download.libre.computer](https://download.libre.computer), and boot files for
a board you are writing from
[boot.libre.computer](https://boot.libre.computer). An image URL you choose is
downloaded from that address. Those are ordinary downloads. The server sees
your IP address, the URL, the client identifier the HTTP stack sends, and a
resume range when a download continues. The request does not include an
account, an advertising ID, or information about the board. We do not use our
own download logs to build a profile of you. A download from somewhere other
than our hosts is governed by that site.
USB traffic stays between your device and the board. It is not uploaded.
Opening a web link leaves the app. That site then applies its own policy,
including this one when the link is this website.
## On the website
The one thing the website stores in your browser is your theme choice (auto,
light or dark), kept in local storage on your own device. It is never
transmitted anywhere, and clearing your site data removes it.
## Hosting
The site is static, served by a hosting provider. As with any web host, the
provider receives the request metadata needed to deliver a page — your IP
address, the requested URL, your user agent, the time — and processes it to
serve traffic and to protect the service from abuse, under its own privacy
terms. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and we do not
combine them with anything else.
## Third parties your browser contacts
**Reading this site contacts nobody but this site.** Fonts, images, styles and
scripts — including the Markdown renderer and the email client — are served
from this origin. There is no CDN in front of the page assets, so no third
party sees that you read us.
One request leaves this origin, and only if you make it happen:
| Sent to | When | What it carries |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `api.emailjs.com` | Only when you submit the contact form | The contents of that form, to deliver it to us |
Links to distributors, hub.libre.computer and other sites are governed by
those sites' own policies, not this one.
## Other sites we run
**hub.libre.computer** — our community forum, and a separate service from this
website. It is account-based: registering, posting or logging in means it
stores what you would expect a forum to store, including cookies for your
session. Its terms and privacy policy are published on the forum itself and
govern your use of it; nothing on this page limits or replaces them.
Product downloads, board documentation and support threads live there, so a
link from here to a specific thread takes you to that separate service. You
can read it without an account.
## The contact form
If you use the contact form, you send us the name, email address and message
you type into it. It is delivered to our inbox through EmailJS, our email
service provider. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the
correspondence. We do not sell it, rent it, or use it for marketing you did
not ask for.
## Security reports
Vulnerability reports go to
[security@libre.computer](mailto:security@libre.computer) and are handled as
described on the [security and software support page](/security/). We keep
report correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the issue and to inform
affected users.
## Your rights
Write to [contact@libre.computer](mailto:contact@libre.computer) to ask what
correspondence we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. If you
are in the EU, EEA or UK, this includes your rights of access, rectification,
erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR.
## Your data in the app
We do not hold an app profile on our servers. Data the app stores is on your
device, and clearing the app's stored data deletes it. Correspondence you
send us is covered under [Your rights](#your-rights).
## Children
This website and the app are aimed at developers and businesses. We do not
knowingly collect information from children.
