This agreement covers the Libre Computer app as distributed in binary form by
Imprecision Systems LLC ("we"): the desktop app, the lc command-line tool, the
Android app, and the data, images and text that come with them (together, "the
Software"). By installing or using the Software you accept these terms. If you
do not accept them, do not install or use it.
## 1. License grant
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to
install and use the Software, for personal or commercial purposes, on any
number of computers and devices.
You may copy and redistribute the Software, free of charge, only as the
unmodified package we published (the same .deb or APK file), with this
agreement and the third-party notices included.
## 2. Restrictions
Except as section 3 allows or as applicable law permits despite this
limitation, you may not:
- a. modify the Software, or distribute a modified copy of it;
- b. decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the Software;
- c. sell, rent or lease the Software, or charge for distributing it;
- d. remove or change any copyright notice, license or third-party notice in
it.
## 3. Third-party components
The Software contains, or links at run time to, components licensed by
their authors under their own licenses. They are listed in the file
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES that comes with the Software. Those licenses, not this
agreement, govern those components, and nothing in this agreement limits
any right they give you.
In particular, the desktop app links dynamically to libraries licensed
under the GNU Lesser General Public License (GTK, WebKitGTK and libusb,
among others). You may replace those libraries with modified versions, and
section 2 does not prohibit modifying the Software for your own use and
reverse engineering it to debug such modifications, as that license
requires.
## 4. Boards, firmware and data
The Software boots, tests, flashes and drives the pins of single-board
computers. Doing that can change what is stored on a board, and a wrong
choice can leave a board unable to boot or damage the board or anything
connected to it. You are responsible for what you choose to do with it.
Firmware, operating system images and other files the Software downloads
are covered by their own licenses, not by this agreement.
## 5. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights,
title and interest in it, including all intellectual property rights.
"Libre Computer" and its logos are trademarks; this agreement grants no
right to use them except to identify the unmodified Software.
## 6. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
## 7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL
IMPRECISION SYSTEMS LLC OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES
OR OTHER LIABILITY, INCLUDING DAMAGE TO HARDWARE, LOSS OF DATA, OR
INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER IN AN
ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN
CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OF OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE
SOFTWARE.
## 8. Termination
This license ends automatically if you break any of its terms. You must
then stop using the Software and delete every copy you have. Sections 3
and 5 to 9 continue to apply after it ends.
## 9. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United
States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising
from it shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in New
Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any provision of this
agreement is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
## 10. Changes
A later version of the Software may come with a different agreement, which
then applies to that version.
